Mashhad (IP) - As the month of Muharram arrives, the shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) in Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi province, northeast of Iran, is mourning in black.

Iran Press/Iran news: On Saturday night, with the beginning of the month of Muharram, the shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) mourned Imam Hussein (PBUH) and the black flag of mourning was raised over the dome of the eighth Shia Imam.

The various porches and courtyards of the shrine of Imam Reza (PBUH) are the scenes of lamentation, Iran Press reported.

Pilgrims and lovers of Imam Hussein (PBUH) after the congregational prayers, pay tribute and mourning to the prophet.

Today (Sunday) September 1, 2019, is the first day of the month of Muharram al-Haram in 1441 AH.

Islamic Iran is in mourning at the beginning of the month of Muharram, in honor of Imam Hussein, the third Shia Imam, and his companions.
