Iran Press/Iran news: "Preserving these forests, some important measures such as CC TV, smoke fire and flame sensors, air patrolling mounting as well as husbandry evacuation, deploying locals as the guards above all, naming a day in Iran's calendar as Hircanian forests day is to be operational," said Deputy head of cultural heritage, Handicrafts, Tourism Org Muhammad Hassan Talebian in a a press conference on Monday.
Also, Mazandaran governor Ahmad Hussein-Zadegan in his speech at the meeting said: "Media is a great help to make the officials try more and do their duties in the best possible way, Iran Press reported.
"Hirkani forests have been protected by NGOs and the people themselves, these forests are our ancestors' heritage bequeathed to us and we do whatever we can to remove obstacles of safeguarding it," he added.
He also highlighted that significant steps have been taken to counter wood-smuggling and deforestation.

Hirkani forests of the Caspian Sea registered as world heritage in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
At the 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), presented a report about this broad-leaved forest which is dubbed a natural museum.
Hirkani woods are as old as 40 million years and one of Iran and the world’s most valuable sites, according to Iran Press.
The Hirkani ecosystem is home to 296 species of birds, 98 species of mammals, and 150 native trees and bushes. These forests have different types of vegetation depending on the elevation. Its best-known trees are the rush, oak, alder, elm, ash, and cedar. 104/208
