Tehran (IP) - Iran's Energy Minister said the Eurasian countries will establish a free-trade zone with the cooperation of Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: In the sidelines of the government cabinet meeting on July 17th, 2019, in Tehran in an interview with Iran Press, Iran's Energy Minister, Reza Ardakanian highlighted the establishment of a free-trade zone by the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Eurasian Countries including Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Belarus, and Vietnam.

"The Eurasian agreement with Iran is a forum which aims to lessen the impact of sanctions and develop the Iranian economy, above all, industrial, agricultural, and other producers will have access to this market which creates job opportunities for many people," said Ardakanian.

"the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which we have joined and have been added to those countries which establish this economic union is based on our national law," he added.

The energy minister went on to say that the prime minister of Armenia has invited the Iranian president to join Eurasian leaders.  

On June 10, via a phone call, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan invited Rouhani to attend the EAEU Summit in Yerevan on October 1.

EAEU is a political and economic union of states located in central and northern Eurasia. The treaty, aiming for the establishment of the EAEU, was signed on 29 May 2014 by the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, and came into force on 1 January 2015.
