Khuzestan (IP) - An earthquake measuring 5.7 of the Richter scale has rocked the southwestern Iranian city of Masjed Soleiman in Khuzestan province, killing one individual and injuring up to 20 others.

Iran Press/Iran news: The earthquake was felt in other cities in southwestern Iran such as Ahwaz, Abadan, Dezful, Izeh, Karoun, as well as in cities further afield in southern, western and northwestern Iran, including the cities of Shiraz, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Shahr-e-Kord, Hamedan, Yasouj,  Ilam, and various other places.

According to Iran's National Seismology Centre, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 17 kilometers at about 11:30 am on Monday morning.

Some news reports put the number of casualties at five, but other reports say one person has been killed and twenty others have been injured.
