Iran Press/Iran news: In a message on the occasion of International Quds Day, Ali Akbar Velayati emphasized that forty years have passed since the seminal, far-sighted and revolutionary idea of Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) declaring the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadhan as International Quds Day, and with the start of the second stage of the Islamic revolution, the convergence between the Islamic resistance front and the Islamic Ummah spells disaster for the Zionist regime, and with this powerful unification, both the Islamic Ummah and the resistance front are calling for Israel's destruction with a loud voice.
As the Founder of the Islamic Republic insisted, Palestine was and remains the first and foremost issue in the world of Islam, with the Islamic Ummah uniting to face-off with the Zionists. Imam Khomeini introduced the Palestinians with a new more powerful Islamic and revolutionary way to confront the Zionists, and shifted the balance of power which was in favour of Israel in the second half of the Twentieth Century, within a short period of just a few years, to favour the Palestinians and the Islamic World.
This was Imam Khomeini's (may his soul rest in peace) great achievement and its deep energising effect on the oppressed Islamic nations of Palestine, Lebanon, ... meant that the Zionist regime was forced and humiliated to abandon southern occupied Lebanon, and it was resoundingly defeated in the 33 day, 22 day, 8 day, and 51 day wars. Imam Khomeini's brilliant and far-sighted idea of International Quds Day has shifted the balance of power in favour of the Palestinians and the Islamic Resistance Front, and has goiven a new impetus and self-confidence to the Resistance Front and Muslims throughout the world. 211/213
