British people concerns for foodstuff shortage because of Brexit

As the Brexit implementation deadline draws near, British people are increasingly rushing to the shops to buy essential food and consumables.

Iran Press/Europe: As a the deadline of Brexit implementation approaches, the fear of its people for its economic shocks, especially food shortages, is becoming increasingly evident.

Due to Britain's exit from the European Union,  konwn as BREXIT, the people fear of economic shocks, especially food shortages, is becoming more and more evident," the Die Welt newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Young people are much more worried than the old, with a quarter of 18-34-year-olds taking precautions to avoid going hungry.

Trade association the British Retail Consortium has warned that there will be shortages of fresh food because it could go off due to congestion at UK ports.

The figures were released as part of consumer spending data showed that consumer spending declined slightly in August, compared to the same month in 2018. 

One of the main concerns of the British people these days is the provision and storage of necessary food and medicine.

The UK has spent nearly three years trying to negotiate a divorce from the European Union , following the June 2016 referendum that resulted in the surprise victory of those in favor of Brexit.

 Michael Gove, Member of the British Parliament on Sunday, acknowledged that some economic factors may lead to rising food prices in the UK after the  no-deal Brexit.  

 British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has vowed to take Britain out of the European Union by October 31, with an agreement or without it.
