Emergency meeting with parties to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal was constructive, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, said after the talks in Vienna.

Iran Press/Europe: "Today it was an extraordinary meeting of the joint commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA),"said Abbas Araghchi addressing journalists and correspondents. He also talked about some other meetings about JCPOA and the reduction of Iran's commitment toward the deal.

According to an Iran Press report, Araghchi also said that  there has been some complaints raised by Iran. Iran's top diplomat also said that the issue of the Iranian oil tanker (Grace 1) was also among the topics discussed at the meeting. "Since Iran is entitled to export its oil according to JCPOA, any impediment in the way of Iran's export of oil is actually against JCPOA and against UN Security Council resolution 2231", warned Araghchi.

He continued to call the US move to prevent Iran's oil exports as an actual violation of UN security council resolution 2231.

“The atmosphere was constructive. Discussions were good. I cannot say that we resolved everything, I can say there are lots of commitments,” Araghchi stressed.

Calling JCPOA as the big achievement of diplomacy in recent years, Aragchi stressed that some of the discussions were about finding practical solutions about INSTEX so that Iran could benefit from its effect of bypassing US sanctions.

The meeting of JCPOA joint commission was held in Vienna with the remaining parties to the pact discussing the nuclear deal, and how it can be salvaged.

Envoys from Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China, and Iran took part in Sunday's session, discussing ways of preserving the agreement, given the fact that United States withdrew from it in May 2018 and re-imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic.  203/211/218
