Iran Press/Europe: Mohammad Javad Zarif made the comments on Saturday evening in a telephone conversation initiated by British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt.
Referring to the legal destination of the Iranian oil tanker in the Eastern Mediterranean, Zarif said the European Union, which has always opposed the supranational sanctions imposed by the United States, can not take such action, and the British government must immediately take measures to put an end to the illegal Iranian tanker seizure, IP reported.
Zarif also referred to "Nazanin Zaghari" case and other dual nationals arrested for security crimes in Iran, and told his British counterpart, "The arrest and trial of these people has been carried out in accordance with fully-legal procedures, and the British government is expected to respect the law enforcement and independence of the judiciary in the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Meanwhile, British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Jeremy Hunt reaffirmed Iran's right to export oil. He expressed concern over the tensions in the region, hoping that the results of legal and judicial investigations in Gibraltar would end as soon as possible to facilitate release of Iranian oil tanker.
The British navy seized an Iranian tanker at Gibraltar on Thursday (July 4th) at the request of the United States.
