Iran Press/Asia: In a meeting with Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah, Jahangiri also expressed hope for solving problems in Afghanistan and establishing security in the country, through the wise decisions made by Afghan officials.
Jahangiri, who is in Uzbekistan to attend the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), also referred to the recent successful presidential elections in Afghanistan and emphasized the elections as an important step for democracy in the country, Iran Press reported.

Pointing to the peace process as an important issue in Afghanistan, Jahangiri described the Afghan government’s participation in the peace process very important.
Turning to the landmark nuclear deal between Iran and major world powers, Jahangiri said: "After protracted negotiations which lasted many years, and the signing of the nuclear accord in 2015, the US simply walked away from its obligations and commitments under the US President Donald Trump, breaching international laws and an international nuclear accord known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)."
Iran's vice president reiterated that after being defeated in Iraq and Syria, the ISIS terrorist group is seeking to relocate its forces to Afghanistan, and urged the Afghan government to be more aware and vigilant with this regard and to prevent ISIS terrorists (also known as Daesh terrorists) from creating insecurity both inside and outside of Afghanistan, particularly in neighbouring countries.
Pointing to the trilateral agreement between Iran, Afghanistan, and India for developing the port city of Chabahar in southeastern Iran, Jahangiri said: "Iran is determined to implement this agreement and both governmental and private sectors are ready to make substantial investments in the project."
"Tehran and Kabul should be after promoting trade relations more than ever," Jahangiri noted.
At the meeting, Abdullah Abdullah presented a report on the process of holding elections in Afghanistan.
He also expressed hope for finalizing a comprehensive cooperation document with Tehran.
He added that Daesh terrorists are trying to increase their activities in eastern Afghanistan. 101/211/207
