Iran ready to transfer expertise to China National Defence University: Top commander
The Joint Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces has said Iran's Supreme National Defense University is ready to transfer its military and academic expertise and experiences to China's National Defense University in order to expand and strengthen military relations with Beijing.
Iran Press/ Asia: The Joint Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri made the remarks on Thursday in a meeting with the head of People's Liberation Army National Defence University Major General Wu Jieming, saying, “the changing world has created various challenges for the countries and these challenges need research for which universities are the best places.”
“In the past few years the relations between Iran and China have moved toward becoming "strategic" and improving day by day,” said Bagheri, adding, “the Armed Forces of the two countries have great relations, especially in training and scientific issues.”
The head of PLA National Defence University noted that the bilateral ties between Iran and China will bring about peace and stability to the region.
Major General Wu added that the development of political relations between Tehran and Beijing has resulted in the development of military ties between the armed forces of the two countries.
He also expressed his willingness to expand ties with Iranian universities.
Major General Mohammad Bagheri also met the Chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission Li Zuocheng and Vice-chairman of China’s Central Military Commission Xu Qiliang on Wednesday.
Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Bagheri arrived in China on Wednesday for a three-day visit to China upon official invitation of his Chinese counterpart.
Establishing a joint military commission, visiting China's industrial and scientific centers, and giving a speech at the PLA National Defence University are also on the agenda of the top Iranian commander.
