The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces is expected to meet and hold talks with senior Chinese military and political officials during his three-day visit to the country.
According to an Iran Press report, the two sides are expected to discuss the upgrading and strengthening of all-round defence cooperation between Tehran and Beijing.
Iran and China have close diplomatic, economic, trade and energy ties, and in recent years have developed their military ties as well.
In November 2016, the defence ministers of Iran and China signed a military cooperation agreement that entails military-to-military exchanges, joint counterterrorism training, as well as joint military exercises. 101/211
