Iran Press/ Asia: "For centuries the security of the Persian Gulf region has been provided by regional countries, and today, it is not achieved without the cooperation of the countries of the region," Mohammad Javad Zarif told reporters after meeting with Indonesian counterpart, Retno Marsudi in Jakarta.
He also pointed to Iran's and Indonesia's shared views on the Palestinian issue, adding that the two countries pursue common goals in this regard, Iran Press reported.
Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif met and held talks with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Marsudi on Friday.
Senior officials emphasized the level of relations between the two countries, political and parliamentary exchanges, economic cooperation, and highlighted the development of relations in view of the existing capacities on both sides.
In this meeting, Zarif referred to Iran's principled approach about the nuclear deal between the international community and Tehran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), stressed on the necessity of the other party's commitment to its obligations and providing Iran's economic interests.
Promoting increased political consultations and cooperation between the two countries on important issues in the Islamic world, especially Palestine, and continuing consultations on important issues in the region, as well as in the organization of Islamic cooperation and other international were on the meeting's agenda. 101/218
