Iran Press/Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met in Yokohama on Wednesday, discussing bilateral ties, recent developments about Iran nuclear deal, other regional and international issues such as tensions in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East and the diplomatic shuttling concerning the US economic terrorism.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the tensions in the Middle East caused by US maximum pressure policy vis-a-vis Tehran, saying that “We are not at all seeking heightened tensions, we believe every country should be able to enjoy its rights under international law.” Reuters reported.
Earlier, in a separate meeting, Iran's Foreign Minister and his counterpart Japanese Foreign Minister Kono Taro discussed bilateral ties, regional and international developments, as well as the latest diplomatic developments regarding the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Zarif will continue with his tour leaving Japan for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday. 205/211/218
