Iran Press/Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized on strengthening Mutual relation in the economy and political fields.
Chinese FM supported the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and rejected US unilateralism.
He announced China's determination to maintain cooperation with Iran and the International community to preserve the nuclear deal.
Iran's foreign minister, on his arrival at Beijing, China, expressed hope that European signatories to the JCPOA would fulfill their obligations under the nuclear agreement.
Referring to his visit to France, Mohammad Javad Zarif said the visit was at the invitation of his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian, in a bid to continue discussions on recent initiatives between the presidents of Iran and France. "We met with the French President in Paris on Friday," he said.
Zarif said, "Some points needed to be explained or negotiated once more, especially banking and oil issues between our experts, which we did in an intensive negotiation for about four hours in Biarritz with the French Foreign Minister and the French Finance Minister, and I also met with Macron at the end."
"We also had an opportunity to review the latest developments and coordination with the assistants of British Prime Minister and the Chancellor of Germany as other members of the three European parties to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action JCPOA also known as Iran's nuclear agreement, and we hope that these talks will help enable Europeans to fulfill their obligations," Zarif went on to say.
"The purpose of the trip to China, Japan and Malaysia"
Speaking about his visit to three Asian countries, the top diplomat said: "Regular periodic talks with our friends in China, as well as Japan and Malaysia, were the main purpose of the visit."
"In China, we will discuss the latest state of the nuclear agreement and the latest developments in the region. A 25-year plan for the long-term and strategic relations between Iran and China will also be presented," Iran's foreign minister added.
Zarif continued, "The visit to Japan was accompanied by talks that have been going on between us and Japan. This is my second trip to Japan in the last few months."
Concerning Malaysia, he said, given the convergence of views between Iran and the new Malaysian government, there is a need for coordinated cooperation in the Islamic world and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries."
