Zarif calls on international community to stop Israel intervention in Syria

Insisting on a halt to Israeli incursions and attacks on Syria, Iran's Foreign Minister asked the international community to stop Israel's violations of Syria's territorial integrity.

Iran Press/America: Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks in the EU summit over Syria which took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

"All foreign forces who are present in Syria without the country's permission should leave Syria," Zarif added according to Iran Press.

"We always said that the Syria crisis will only be solved within a political approach in a framework lead by the country and the UN. The recent Astana meeting once again approved this approach," Iran's Foreign Minister said.

"Only Syrian people can decide about their destiny, so we should prepare the way for Syrian-Syrian talks in order to help them to come to a political agreement without pushing pressure on them or setting an unrealistic deadline for them," Zarif noted.

"Sovereignty, political independence, unity and territorial integrity of Syria must be respected by all sides," Iran's Foreign Minister added.

"Israel interventions in Syria just makes the country's affaire more complicated," he noted.

"US action to recognize the annexation of the occupied of Golan Heights to Israel is illegal and invalid. Golan Heights is a part of Syria and it will stay this way," Zarif stated.

Zarif also asked for the immediate return of Syrian refugees to their country and demanded that it should happen voluntarily and without any pressure. 101/201
