Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed major issues in two interviews with a small group of journalists before leaving New York for Caracas

Iranian Foreign Minister says US president's recent 'Zero-Enrichment' negotiating position was a repeat of the mistakes of Donald Trump's predecessors, which led Iran to increase the level of nuclear enrichment.

Iran press/America: Mohammad Javad Zarif made the comments on Friday before leaving New York for Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, in response to recent statements by Trump that Iran should freeze uranium enrichment at all levels and sign a 100-year agreement in this respect.

Zarif siad, "These statements indicate that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) known as Iran's nuclear deal is a reasonable agreement, and the Trump's maximalist position is futile and ineffective."

Iranian Foreign Minister stated, "The people who tell these stupid things to Trump are those who killed a possible deal with Iran by insisting on zero enrichment in the early 1980s."

Zarif cautioned the US president against repeating this false cycle, IRNA reported.

commenting on INSTEX, The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said, "We have repeatedly said that INSTEX is an introduction to the implementation of EU obligations and commitments. If Europeans are willing to do the necessary actions that they need to keep JCPOPA alive, it is necessary to make the INSTEX operational."

Mohammad Javad Zarif left New York to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, to attend a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Zarif will go to Havana at the final stage of the trip to meet the Cuban officials and discuss issues of mutual interest.
