Nigerian government has newly tried to cast aspersions on the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), accusing him of planning for revolution in Nigeria.

Iran Press/Africa: The Nigerian government, on Wednesday, tried in a new way to cast aspersions on the leader of IMN Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky again, accusing him of being sponsored by Iran to replicate the Islamic Revolution of 1979 in Nigeria.

In a new process it filed before the Federal High Court, Abuja, the federal government claimed that currently, members of the IMN do not recognize President Muhammadu Buhari’s authority, The Premium Times reported.

It claimed that the plan of the Shia leader and his supporters was to forcefully turn the country into an Islamic State.

On August 16, 2019, Sheikh Zakzaky who had gone to India for medical treatment returned to Nigeria without receiving any medical service.

Following Sheikh Zakzaky’s return to Nigeria, the IMN revealed a plot by the Nigerian Government to kill the Shiite Leader of the Islamic Movement at the Medenta Hospital in New Delhi, India.
