Tehran (IP) - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf blamed the United States and Israel for causing insecurity in the Persian Gulf region.

Iran PressIran News: Ghalibaf told reporters Sunday evening that the United States and the Zionist Regime are forcing Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region to normalize relations with Israel.

Speaking at the end of a joint meeting of the heads of 3 branches of the government, he added that the United States and the Zionist regime are acting devilishly and want to destabilize the region.

President Rouhani also stated at the end of the meeting: "The conspiracies that the United States and Zionism have planned for the region nowadays and how we should pursue regional issues and maintain regional stability and security were reviewed at the meeting."

Less than a month after the announcement of the normalization agreement between Israel and the UAE, US President Donald Trump announced on Friday (September 11th) the normalization of relations between Bahrain and Israel.
