According to an Iran Press report, Zarif addressing the India-Iran business forum in New Delhi on Tuesday, regretted the fact that the challenge facing bilateral relationships came from one single country, and more specifically from one individual.
Citing US President Donald Trump’s hostile policies towards Iran, Zarif pointedly added: "The United States is asking other countries to violate a UN Security Council resolution. We provide a third of urea fertilizer to India. Today Indian farmers are paying 38 percent more because of the arbitrary decision by an individual. Is this the future we want?"
The Iranian Foreign Minister went on to emphasize the Islamic Republic's continued development during the past 40 years despite sanctions, saying this progress will not stop.
Zarif added: "India was on our side in the past. We never forget people on our side, when better times come. And I assure you better times will come."
Zarif started a three-day visit to India on Monday, heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation.
Dozens of senior CEOs and entrepreneurs, from both private and public sectors, have accompanied Mohammad Javad Zarif on the trip to New Delhi.
