Damascus (IP) – Iranian foreign minister said the criminal actions of the Zionist regime had intensified since the International Quds Day and the bombing of Gaza had created critical conditions in the region.

Iran Press/Middle East: Upon his arrival in Damascus, Mohammad-Javad Zarif stated that, unfortunately, the criminal actions of the Zionist regime had intensified since the International Quds Day, and there had been unprecedented incidents in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the occupied territories.

"The bombing of Gaza has created critical conditions in the region, and Syria, as one of the leading countries in the resistance, has a vital role to play in this regard," he noted.

Zarif explained that in addition to talks on the Syrian elections and the Islamic Republic's support for the Syrian government and people, these talks would focus on reconstruction and the fight against terrorism.

"We will talk to Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Meqdad and other Syrian and Palestinian friends about the situation in occupied Palestine," he concluded.
