UN (IP)- Iran's representative to the United Nations said that the Israeli regime had committed international crimes in the recent attack on Gaza and its officials should be brought to justice.

Iran PressAmerica: "The brutal actions of the Israeli regime are clear examples of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity, and international and humanitarian law," Majid Takht Ravanchi told in a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday.

Takht Ravanchi stated: "The Security Council could not adopt a single statement, even a moderate one, to call for an end to the attacks on civilians in Gaza due to the United States' shameful support for the Israeli regime."

Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations also cited the attack and killing of civilians in Yemen as examples of violations of international law, saying such actions were criminal and should be stopped immediately.

Pointing out that the UN Security Council's inaction in the past with the perpetrators of such crimes has made them more courageous to commit more crimes, Takht Ravanchi added: "The possible inaction of the Security Council in the future will lead to the continuation of these crimes in the future."
