Iran Press/Asia: Mohammad Javad Zarif during a trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan on the sidelines of the "Heart of Asia" conference in Dushanbe on Monday, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the three countries in creating convergence and stability in the region, announced Iran’s readiness to start cultural cooperation in the form of an operational plan.
Expressing respect for Iran's rich culture, the Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Mukhriddin called the cultural commonalities of the three countries of Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan a supreme example of regional integration, and recalled the ancient ritual of Nowruz, and proposed defining joint cultural programs between the three countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Hanif Atamar, while appreciating the common views of the three countries on regional issues, announced his readiness to pursue economic, cultural, and political cooperation between the three countries based on a single operational roadmap.
Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran met with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and discussed bilateral issues and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including economic, trade, energy, industry, transportation, science, and culture.
During the meeting with the President of Tajikistan, the importance of the role of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between the two countries was emphasized.
Meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishinkar, and CICA Executive Secretary Kairat Sarybay was among Zarif’s agenda.
