Tehran (IP) - After Amir Hossein Ghazizaded Hashemi, the second Iranian presidential candidate Alireza Zakani, Tehran's Mayor dropped out of the 14th Iran presidential elections on Thursday.

Iran PressIran news: Alireza Zakani, Mayor of Tehran and the candidate for the 14th Iran Presidential elections announced his withdrawal from the contest on Thursday.

In a post on the X platform, Zakani said: "I stayed until the end of the legal term of the competition, but the continuation of the path of late President Raisi is more important."

Zakani asked 2 principalist presidential candidates Jalili and Qalibaf to unite against reformist candidate Pezeshkian.

The candidates remaining in the race are Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Mostafa Pourmohammadi, and Masoud Pezeshkian.
