Iran Press/ Iran news: Alireza Zakani, Mayor of Tehran and the candidate for the 14th Iran Presidential elections announced his withdrawal from the contest on Thursday.
In a post on the X platform, Zakani said: "I stayed until the end of the legal term of the competition, but the continuation of the path of late President Raisi is more important."
Zakani asked 2 principalist presidential candidates Jalili and Qalibaf to unite against reformist candidate Pezeshkian.
The candidates remaining in the race are Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Mostafa Pourmohammadi, and Masoud Pezeshkian.
On Wednesday, Amir-Hossein Ghazizadeh Hashemi, former parliamentarian and vice president.
