Messages of felicitations have poured in on behalf of the world’s leaders and top government officials after Masoud Pezeshkian, a seasoned Iranian parliamentarian, was formally declared the winner of the country’s presidential runoff.

Iran PressIran news:  The 69-year-old heart surgeon garnered more than 16 million votes while his rival, former nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili, got over 13 million out of about 30 million votes cast, with the voter turnout standing at 49.8 percent.

Pezeshkian entered politics first as the country’s deputy health minister and later as the health minister.

In 2006, Pezeshkian was elected as a lawmaker representing Tabriz in northwest Iran. He later served as a deputy parliament speaker described by many as an “independent” politician, a label that was embraced by Pezeshkian in the campaign.

IP- In his congratulatory message, Emir Sheikh Mishal al-Ahmad al-Sabah wished Pezeshkian a long and healthy life and “more prosperity and development for the Islamic Republic”.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a message to Masoud Pezeshkian, congratulating him on his election as president of Iran.

The Chinese president said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Iran relations and is willing to work with Pezeshkian to guide the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar Leaders Offer CongratulationsThe King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani, all sent messages congratulating Pezeshkian on his success in the presidential race.

Oman and UAE Also Offer Well-WishesThe Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also conveyed their congratulations to the Iranian president-elect. The UAE president expressed his willingness to further expand bilateral relations between the two countries.

Serbian Pres. Congratulates Iranian New Counterpart Pezeshkian

Serbian President Alexander Vocic published a message on his X account on Saturday congratulating the newly elected Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian.

"Sincere congratulations to Iranian President @drpezeshkian. Your victory reflects citizens' trust in your vision for the future, dedication to peace, and desire for your country's progress. I am confident that your leadership will bring prosperity and well-being to your people."

Belarus' Lukashenko Congratulates Iran's President-Elect Pezeshkian, Sees Opportunity for Expanded Ties

In a message cited by the Belta news agency, Lukashenko stated that the election results "confirm your high political authority and testify to the public support for the course of the country's leadership in defending the national interests of Iran, creating prospects for its citizens and cooperation with the countries of your region."

The Belarusian president also expressed optimism about the prospects for expanding the dialogue between Minsk and Tehran, stating, "I am convinced that in the near future we will be able to implement all the agreements reached, including those on raising the level of the Belarusian-Iranian relations to a strategic partnership."

Lukashenko's message highlights the potential for strengthened ties between Belarus and Iran under Pezeshkian's presidency. The Belarusian leader's emphasis on the Iranian people's support for Pezeshkian and the country's leadership suggests a desire to deepen cooperation and engagement between the two nations.

The reference to "defending the national interests of Iran" and "creating prospects for its citizens" suggests that Lukashenko sees Pezeshkian's presidency as an opportunity to further align Belarus and Iran's strategic interests, particularly in the regional context.

The secretary general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) felicitated the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian in Iran’s presidential election runoff.

In his congratulatory message, Zhang Ming congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on his election win as new president of the Islamic Republic of Iran and wished evermore success for the Islamic Republic on the international stage.

The Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is committed to cooperating with Iran to ensure regional security and cooperate mutually for the further success of member states.

He wished well-being- prosperity, peace, and security for the noble nation of Islamic Iran.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan also congratulated the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian in Iran's 14th presidential election, saying that Iran and Turkey's cooperation will be strengthened during his term.

Turkish president hoped that the election results would be a source of blessing for the Iranian nation.

The President of Turkey stated that Iran and Turkey's cooperation would be strengthened during the Pezeshkian presidency, expressing his pleasure to collaborate with Iran.

He also wished for the well-being and prosperity of the friendly and brotherly nation of Iran.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shaukat Mirzayev congratulated the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian in Iran's 14th presidential election.

Uzbekistan President assured that during the term of the presidency of Pezeshkian, multilateral and long-term cooperation between Tehran and Tashkent will reach a higher level in all priority fields.

He also mentioned the continuous and effective expansion of cooperation in political, commercial, economic, transportation, communication, and cultural-humanitarian fields with Iran.

He described Iran as a country that has many potentials and capabilities that have been dynamically developing in recent years.
