Iran Press/Middle East: In the face of impeachment and domestic pressure these days, the US president, in addition to endorsing the occupation of the Zionist regime, also urged the Palestinians to join into the deal and enjoy the economic benefits. Trump's remarks were endorsed by Netanyahu and called the US president as Israel's best friend.
The announcement of the plan has been faced with mixed reactions both from Palestinian leaders, officials, and other personalities around the world:
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said, "Jerusalem is not for sale and Trump's plan is an endless conspiracy."
"Our strategy focuses on continuing the struggle for an end to the occupation and not abandoning our historical rights," he said, adding that the deal of the century is a conspiracy that will never be executed.
"We say a thousand times: No, no and no to the 'deal of the century,'" Abbas said, adding that the US plan "will not come to pass" and that "our people will send it to the dustbins of history."
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zahri said Trump's remarks were hostile and would provoke widespread outrage. "Trump's remarks about Quds are absurd and the Quds will remain the land of Palestine," Abu Zahri added.
Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi believes that the only way to establish an independent Palestinian state in the capital of the East is to seek genuine and just peace based on international resolutions that include ending the occupation, protecting the rights of the Palestinian people and Jordanian interests.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry rejected the "deal of the century", insisting that the Palestinian people and their lands were not for sale, saying the plan was dead. The plan is to annex and usurp the Palestinian territories and kill the two-state solution, the Turkish Foreign Ministry says.
The Arab regimes back US and Israeli plots, said Mohammad Abdulsalam, spokesman for Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement. The Trump peace plan showed that the United States is not only a real mediator but it also is a true enemy of the Islamic Ummah. Trump's plan also revealed the role of the Arab regimes in charge of sponsoring colonial projects.
Condemning Trump's peace plan, Hezbollah issued a statement declaring that no conspiracy, deal, and treason could violate the rights of the Palestinians in their lands, and Muslims have the ability to destroy the deal soon.
Ammar Hakim, the leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, emphasized that the deal of the century is a dangerous conspiracy against world stability and peace. Iraqi leader Muqtada al-Sadr also emphasized that Quds belongs to all religions and Palestine is the land of the free people.
Iraqi parliamentarian Hassan Karim al-Kaabi said that announcing details of the deal at this time would lead to new tensions and the collapse of all signs of peace and security in the region.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that the Palestinians and Israelis would first study the plan of the century deal and then decide, rather than any hasty decision.
The Foreign Ministry of Qatar said that it would not be possible to achieve peace without protecting Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign state along the borders. Creating peace requires the protection of Palestinian rights in East Jerusalem and the return to their lands.
Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE's ambassador to Washington DC, claims the US plan is an important start to a return to negotiations with US auspices and the international community.
"We support all efforts to reach a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue," the Saudi Foreign Ministry said. Riyadh wants direct talks between Palestinians and Israelis with US supervision, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said.
Joseph Borrell, the European Union foreign affairs minister, announced that Trump's peace plan would be examined in line with EU standards. He added that the EU declares its readiness to cooperate in resuming meaningful negotiations to resolve problems permanently and achieve lasting peace.
British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab also urged Palestinian leaders and Israel to consider the plan "fairly and honestly".
Britain's Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn of Britain called it a threat to peace.
American Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and a Democratic presidential candidate, called the deal "unacceptable" and said the plan would make the Israeli-Palestinian conflict "permanent."
