Iran Press/ Commentary:
According to news on Vienna talks, at least one meeting has been held every day at the level of the head of the delegation with European parties over the past week, and the remaining issues have been discussed in detail in accordance with the new draft.
In addition, contrary to some media speculations, the exchange of messages is through a non-paper method and only conducted by Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary-General/Political Director. European External Action Service, on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, some Western officials, including French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, on Tuesday reiterated the slow pace of progress in the Vienna talks.
Since the beginning of the new round of negotiation process, the Iranian delegation has intensively participated in several meetings at various levels and has tried to accelerate the negotiation process in order to reach a good agreement on all remaining issues by providing innovative solutions and operational mechanisms.
In this regard; in many cases, meetings are even held simultaneously in order to discuss the remaining issues in parallel and as quickly as possible and bring them closer to an agreement.
However, in addition to the continuation of the blame game and the large volume of psychological operations conducted by the Western media, the European delegations have played a largely passive role. Also, The European delegations have played a largely passive role and have not come up with any new ideas or mechanisms to reduce or resolve the remaining issues, other than commenting on Iran's proposals.
In the meantime; some attempts by the Western parties to reconsider the agreed issues or to raise new demands in the negotiations have also slowed down the progress of the diplomatic talks.
The constant absences of the Western senior diplomats and the change of negotiators have further caused the talks to be interrupted losing the expected pace.
Nevertheless; due to the insistence of the Iranian side, the negotiations are moving in the right direction and in a professional atmosphere. If there is enough political will by the Western side necessary and decisions are made more quickly, especially by Washington, it is possible to reach an agreement within a reasonable time frame.
The eighth round of Vienna talks focusing on lifting oppressive and illegal sanctions against Iran, began on Monday, December 27, 2021, with a meeting of the JCPOA Joint Commission chaired by Ali Bagheri, senior negotiator of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary-General of the EU Foreign Action Service.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that the United States is the party violating JCPOA, it is Washington that must return to the agreement with the lifting of the sanctions, and that the fulfillment of US commitments needs to be verified. 219
