Iran Press/ Iran News: After weeks of intensive diplomatic consultations, the eighth round of Vienna negotiations to remove the unlawful sanctions, which had been begun on December 27, 2021, was entered a break on Monday, February 07.
The talks will resume on February 8 in Vienna, the Deputy EU foreign policy chief Enrique Mora said on Monday.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi exchanged views on bilateral relations, the Vienna nuclear talks process, and international developments.
While appreciating Iran's participation in the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Chinese Foreign Minister said that the world will witness an amazing and safe event expressing hope that Iranian athletes will also achieve good results in these international games.
Referring to President Ra'isi's letter to Xi Jinping regarding Beijing-Tehran relations, Chines FM announced his readiness to expand and deepen bilateral relations in all fields and to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two countries on regional and international issues.
Amir- Abdollahian, while thanking and appreciating the Chinese government's supportive position in the Vienna talks on lifting sanctions, stressed the need for realism on the part of the West.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the Western side must make a serious and effective decision in the field of lifting sanctions and show a significant distance from the failed policies of the previous US administration by lifting all sanctions contrary to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and taking serious action in the field to provide a guarantee.
The Chinese Foreign Minister stressed that the US unilateral withdrawal has caused damage and violation of Iran's legitimate rights, adding: "Cooperation and consultations during the Vienna talks and the presentation of reasonable demands and reform proposals by the Iranian side are supported by China."
Referring to the successful holding of the second meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan's neighboring countries in Tehran, Wang Yi, announced the holding of the third meeting in Beijing in person at the end of next month and invited the Iranian foreign minister to attend the meeting.
In the telephone conversation, the two sides stressed the need for continued consultation and consensus on issues of common concern.
