Iran Press/Iran News: On the sideline of synchronizing ceremony of Iran, Iraq power grids here in Tehran Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said in an interview with Iran Press: "A year ago we signed an MoU of cooperation with Iraq's Electricity Ministry for three years covering different aspects of the electrical industry including constructing new generation of power plants in Iraq."
He added, "Also the reduction of losses in the distribution of power grids in Iraq as well as training Iraqi experts by establishing a training center and transferring knowledge and knowhow to Iraq are among our priorities, we managed to export electricity as much as Iraq needs."
Iranian energy minister stated the steps during these three years were synchronization of the grid between Iran and Iraq and we proposed to do everything for this synchronization in a way that on the first of November 2019, we would be able to synchronize both systems, fortunately, we did so.
Reza Ardakanian by stressing the presence of officials from Iraq in the morning meeting said, "We were able to connect our distribution networks, and the impact of this synchronization is a better quality of electricity in Iraq and also expanding ways of cooperation."
