Iran Press/Europe: Sergei Lavrov in a statement today (Friday) referring to the withdrawal of the United States from the so-called Interim Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (INF) with Russia, and said international security had been weakened because Washington was working to dismantle the world's weapons control system.
Lavrov said in a statement that Russia would raise its concerns at a forthcoming meeting of the UN Security Council on the nuclear issue in the presence of the United States, China, France and the United Kingdom.
Russia's foreign minister also said in a statement about the "new start-up agreement" that the fate of the agreement was already clear because Washington did not want to extend it.
The 2010 New Start Treaty was signed between Russia and the United States, and the agreement is currently the only factor in arms control between the two countries, which is still in force.
The agreement expires in February 2021, and Washington has so far refused to extend it.
Lavrov expressed concern about the risk of a nuclear conflict in the world, while the US Senate Armed Services Committee had previously approved a $ 20 million reform of the 2021 military budget to conduct live nuclear tests.
