Baghdad(IP)- Iran's interior minister while appreciating the generosity of the Iraqi government and nation in hosting millions of pilgrims for the Arbaeen Hosseini rituals, said that the plans are going well according to the agreements made between the ministries of Iran and Iraq.

Safar 20th 1445 Hijri (September 6, 2023), which marks the Arbaeen of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the third Imam of the Shia of the world, and his faithful companions are in the desert of Karbala, and on this day pilgrims enter the city of Karbala in the south to attend the Arbaeen ceremony of Hussain (A.S.).

According to Iran Press, Iran's Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, in a meeting with Iraq's Interior Minister Abdul Amir Kamel al-Shammari on Tuesday, considered the sincere and comprehensive cooperation of the two ministries in Arbaeen as a successful example between the two countries.

Iran's interior minister pointed to the heading of the second wave of Iranian pilgrims to Karbala in the coming days and said that about two million pilgrims have entered Iraq so far and it may reach four million people.

The Minister of Interior of Iraq emphasized that the Iraqi government and people have used all their facilities to provide services to the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (AS), especially the Iranian pilgrims, and said that in all fields appropriate capacities and platforms have been created and there is no particular concern.

The Minister of Interior of Iraq added that many good cooperation and measures have been taken between Iranian and Iraqi authorities so that this year's Arbaeen will be held in a better way.

Iran's Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi arrived in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, on Tuesday at the head of a high-ranking delegation to meet and talk with Iraqi officials.
