Tehran (IP) - Deputy for International Affairs of Iran's Judiciary and Secretary-General of Human Rights Office says US unilateral sanctions are utterly contrary to the UN Charter and international law and violate human rights.

Iran PressIran news: Responding to Iran Press on the sidelines of a meeting with resident ambassadors and heads of international organizations, Kazem Gharibabadi said: "US sanctions are unilateral and trans-territorial, and if a country does not comply with these sanctions against other countries, the US will impose sanctions on their officials and private companies."

"Some countries want to help the sanctioned countries but are deeply worried about being punished by the US," he noted.

"Our task is to raise awareness internationally; human rights should not be politicized," he added.

He also announced Iran's readiness to cooperate with other countries in human rights and judicial issues.
