US new sanctions, anti-human crime: Envoy

Paris (IP) - Iran's Ambassador to France Bahram Qasemi described the US sanctioning of 18 Iranian banks trading with foreign companies mainly to supply food and medicine, as an anti-human criminal act.

Iran PressEurope: In a tweet on Friday, Bahram Qasemi said the US Treasury has intensified its insane actions against the Iranian people by intensifying its maximum pressure, especially with the beginning of Donald Trump's presidency and the increase of sanctions policies from the day after the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The US politicians need to know that the world is bigger than they imagine and that Iran will eventually overcome its problems despite increasing barriers to treating some diseases, he noted.

The US Treasury Department sanctioned 18 Iranian banks on Thursday.

After its illegal exit from the JCPOA on May 8, 2018, the US launched an all-around campaign to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian nation.

Washington announced that its aim of the 'maximum pressure campaign' against Iran is to reach a new agreement with Tehran, where all the US-desired issues are addressed.
