Iran Press/Iran news: "If the United States wants to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) without lifting sanctions, it is a "blackmail"; Because instead of any sanctions that it wants to lift, it will make a demand, and this action is not wise," Kamal Kharrazi said in an interview with KHAMENEI.IR.
Kharrazi reminded that if the European countries also are to return to the status quo without the United States, they must first live up to their commitments to the JCPOA and lift the sanctions imposed on Iran.
"Of course, if the United States does not return to the JCPOA at all, it [the return] remains a practical step that the Europeans must follow and fulfill their commitments so that we can return to fulfilling our obligations," he noted.
Regarding the US blackmail over Iran's defense program, the veteran diplomat pointed out that the framework of the JCPOA is clear and has nothing to do with Iran's missile program and regional issues.
The head of the Iranian Strategic Council of Foreign Relations is serious about its commitment to the international agreement, but it will not remain silent before the negligence of other parties.
