US State Department’s special representative for Iran Brian Hook

Brian Hook, the US administration’s special representative for Iran, said Washington will increase its unilateral sanctions against Tehran in 2020 to force the Islamic Republic to agree with US conditions.

Iran Press/America: In a press conference on Monday, the US State Department’s special representative for Iran expressed the White House's anger over Iran's regional influence and said it was satisfied with the effectiveness of maximum pressure policy against Iran.

The US re-imposed sanctions against Iran after in 2018 it unilaterally withdrew from the 20015 nuclear deal. In retaliation, Iran scaled back its obligations under the agreement.

Iran slammed new US sanctions as economic terrorism against its civilians targeting food and medical goods.

The US official also supported the deadly attack against national Iraqi mobilization forces on Sunday and called it an act of self-defense.
