New York (IP) - The Iranian foreign minister traveled to New York to attend a meeting of foreign ministers at the United Nations Security Council.

Iran PressIran News: Talking to Iran Press, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told Iran Press late on Monday that the agenda of the meeting of foreign ministers in the Security Council is peace and security, especially in Palestine and the Gaza Strip.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has arrived at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport to participate in the UN Security Council meeting and continue consultations with foreign officials as part of Tehran's efforts to support the Palestinian people. During his stay in New York, Amir-Abdollahian will deliver a speech at the UN Security Council meeting and hold several one-on-one meetings and news briefings there as well.

Iran's Foreign Minister stated that this meeting is an opportunity for the Islamic Republic to once again support the Palestinian people and declare its opposition to the genocide of Palestinians living in Gaza, their forced migration and the siege of the Gaza Strip.

Amir-Abdollahian added that during the meeting of the foreign ministers in the Security Council, the ideas and solutions available in the United Nations to stop the Gaza war will be reviewed.

Speaking about the consultation with the Russian Foreign Minister in New York, the Iranian Foreign Minister also said in this meeting the agreements between the Presidents of Iran and Russia in Moscow were discussed.

Attack on Yemen; Strategic mistake

Amir-Abdollahian also referred to the joint attack of the United Kingdom and the United States on Yemen, saying that these attacks endanger the peace and security of the region, and Iran has warned the two countries about the consequences and including the possibility of a war.

Iran's foreign minister said that shipping security is important for Yemen, and only ships bound for Israel's ports are stopped by the Yemenis in the Red Sea, and the joint attack by the United Kingdom and the United States on areas in Yemen is a strategic mistake.

The United States and Britain once again attacked areas in Sana'a, the capital of Yemen, on Monday night, and according to a Yemeni official, Bahrain also participated in this attack.
