Moscow (IP) - The Union of Russian Writers in Moscow hosted an expert meeting on the occasion of the Israeli regime's assassination of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Nasrallah's martyrdom and other martyrs of the Resistance Front, titled "Resistance Only Way to Terminate Occupation."

Iran Press/Europe: The former Deputy Speaker of the Russian Parliament Sergei Baborin, the Syrian ambassador to Russia Bashar al-Jafari, the Director of the Union of Russian Writers Sergei Ivanovic, and Iranian diplomat in Moscow Abdolrasoul Shabibi were among the participants of the meeting.

The Iranian diplomat in Russia Abdolrasoul Shabibi pointed to the West Asian region's developments concerning Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the Israeli regime's aggression on Palestine and Lebanon, and the assassination of resistance front's leaders.

Shabibi said after the Operation al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023, the Israeli regime invaded not only the besieged Gaza Strip but it aggressed Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, and even dared to violate Iran's territorial integrity and national sovereignty as it assassinated a formal guest to Tehran.

It was on October 7, 2023, that the Palestinian resistance forces carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Flood against the Israeli regime in response to the regime's more than 7 decades of occupation of Palestine. Since then, the Israeli regime began a carnage in Gaza and has so far killed nearly 42,000 people.

More than one thousand resolutions have been issued in the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, and UN Human Rights Council against the Israeli regime's crimes against Palestine and its people since the formation of the regime.

There again Iranian diplomat referred to the Israeli regime's recent crimes including the assassination of Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and the Iranian military counselor General Abbas Nilforoushan on September 27 and said:

"Despite all these crimes, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the countries of the Resistance Axis tried to stop the aggressions of the Zionist regime and the [Israeli] violence and massacre in Palestine," through the United Nations Security Council."

He said Washington's firm support for Tel Aviv caused the mechanism defined for the Security Council to stop issuing resolutions and all efforts remained incomplete and failed.

"Therefore, despite the self-restraint it practiced, the Islamic Republic of Iran used its right to legitimate defense," he pointed out.

Iran launched Operation True Promise II on October 1, 2024, against the Israeli regime due to the Israeli regime's violation of Iranian territorial integrity over the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Last year, as the Israeli regime hit the Iranian consulate section in Damascus, Syria, Iran carried out the True Promise I operation in response to the aggression on Iranian soil.
