United Nations Secretary-General Ant?nio Guterres reiterated support for the Iran nuclear deal, calling on all parties to comply with their commitments under the deal.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who is currently in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-level Meeting on Sustaining Peace which opened on April 24. 

During the meeting, both sides discussed regional situation, particularly Yemen and Syria, underlining the role of UN in restoring peace and stability to the region through political negotiations, not through military actions.

Earlier, Zarif sat down for talks with the Norwegian, Belgian, Swedish, German and Polish counterparts. 

The Iranian minister delivered speech in the meeting on sustainable peace held on the proposal of the President of the 72nd UNGA Miroslav Lajcak, voicing Iran’s readiness for setting up assembly of regional dialogues.

During his stay in New York, he also held interviews with different US media outlets.
