Iran Press/Asia: According to the report by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) the killing of civilians in Afghanistan is still a common occurrence, and is totally unacceptable.
The report also says the number of people killed by the Afghan military, or NATO-led forces in Afghanistan, has also increased significantly in 2019.
The report also says in January 2019 alone, 531 people were murdered by Daesh terrorists and Taliban militants in Afghanistan, and a further 1430 people were injured.
The report also says extremists and terrorist groups deliberately killed 985 individuals in Afghanistan, including government officials, rescue and relief workers, religious scholars, and also prominent tribal leaders.
The UNAMA report also says Afghan government forces killed 717 Afghans and injured more than 680 others in the first six months of 2019. According to the report this figure shows a 31 percent increase compared to the first six months of 2018.
