Iran Press/ Europe: Eighteen people including two children and the leadership of the Ukrainian interior ministry have died in a helicopter crash in eastern Kyiv, police said.
The helicopter came down by a kindergarten in Brovary, a suburb of the capital, early on Wednesday morning.
The town of Brovary is located some 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Kyiv.
Those killed included Denis Monastyrsky, the interior minister, and his deputy, local media reported citing a police spokesman.
Nine of those killed were aboard the emergency services helicopter that crashed in Brovary, Kyiv's eastern suburb, Ihor Klymenko, chief of Ukraine's National Police.
A total of 29 people including 15 children were injured.
The cause of the crash has not been established.
Russian and Ukrainian forces fought for control of Brovary in the early stages of Moscow's invasion until Russia's troops withdrew in early April.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent troops to pro-Western Ukraine on Feb. 24 last year.
