Ukraine Foreign Ministry rejects hijacking of plane in Afghanistan

Ukraine (IP) - Rejecting reports that a Ukrainian plane had been hijacked in Kabul, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated all Ukrainian planes had returned home safely.

Iran PressEurope: "No Ukrainian plane has been hijacked in Kabul or anywhere else in the world," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenk said in response to reports in some media outlets about the hijacking of a Ukrainian plane from Afghanistan.

He said: "Reports of hijacking a Ukrainian plane in Afghanistan, which are published by some media, are not true at all."

He added: "All Ukrainian planes that went to Afghanistan to evacuate people have returned to Ukraine safely. So far, there have been three flights to Afghanistan and a total of 256 people have left the country."

Earlier, the Spokesman of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) rejected the rumors on the hijack of a Ukrainian plane.
