Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to a British Defence Ministry's document, the embassy said in a tweet that sending these ships to Persian Gulf is a part of pre-planned maintenance and crew change.
The British Embassy in Iran noted that London is not looking to step up its military presence in the region, Iran Press reported.
The British Britain Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced on Tuesday that the country will send a third warship to the Persian Gulf.
According to the ministry, type 23 Frigate HMS KENT will deploy to region to ensure Britain maintains a continuous maritime security presence while HMS Montrose, a type 23 frigate, undertakes planned maintenance.
In response to Iran Press correspondent's question about the UK decision to send a warship to the Persian Gulf, Chief of Staff of Iranian President, Mahmoud Vaezi, said on Wednesday, "UK decision to send a warship to the Persian Gulf is not something new for us. It actually rooted in UK relations with some countries in the region. In my opinion, it would not make a big change." 101
