Uganda (IP) - Imam Hussain (AS) conference was held in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, east of Africa.

Iran PressAfrica: As the Muharram month is approaching, a conference was held in Kampala to introduce Imam Hussain's (AS) school of thought and Ashura Uprise, with the participation of Ugandan Islamic scholars and political and religious figures from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzanian, Ruanda, and Burundi.  

Every year for more than a thousand years, in the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar called Muharram, Muslims and freedom-seekers humans from around the world commemorate the jihad and martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad's grandson Imam Hussein and his companions, in the deserts of Karbala, in the event known as Ashura.

The Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi delivered a speech about Ashura Uprise at the conference, as he had visited Uganda as the last leg of his journey to the African countries, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

The mourning ceremony on the occasion of Imam Hussain's (AS) martyrdom is annually held by the followers and lovers of Ahl ul-Bayt (Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)and his Progeny) in some African countries.
