Iran Press/Europe: "The ministers expressed confidence that the UAE’s accession to BRICS as a full-fledged member will strengthen the political, economic, scientific-and-technical, and human potential of this association, will create additional opportunities for coordination on pressing global problems, as well as for bilateral cooperation, including with due account of Russia’s presidency of BRICS in 2024," the ministry said.
The BRICS group was founded in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, with South Africa joining it in 2011. On January 1, 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates became its full-fledged members.
