The Turkish defence ministry says two soldiers were killed and two injured in an attack on an armored vehicle in northern Syria.

Iran PressMiddle East: Two Turkish soldiers were killed and two were wounded in an attack on their armored vehicle in northern Syria, Turkey’s defence ministry said on Saturday.

It said the attack was in the region where Turkey launched the cross-border “Euphrates Shield” operation in 2016 to drive away ISIS (ISIL) fighters and the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Media reports said the attack was in the al-Bab area.

The Turkish army occupied areas of Syria more than two years ago under the pretext of fighting terrorists, and a group of Turkish soldiers are still present in these areas.

The Turkish military's attacks on Syria have been condemned by the Syrian people and government, as well as by the international community. 219
