Moscow recently hosted a tripartite meeting aimed at connecting the power grids of Iran, Azerbaijan, and Russia.

Iran PressEurope:  The gathering witnessed the presence of Deputy Ministers of Energy from all three countries.

During the meeting, the latest technical measures undertaken by each nation to ensure seamless coordination for the successful implementation of the project were reviewed and discussed. Homayoun Haeri, Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy, attended the meeting as Iran's representative.

Earlier, Vladimir Novikov, the head of the Caucasus Department of the Russian Commonwealth Institute, stated that the energy ministers of Russia, Iran, and Armenia and the deputy energy minister of Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding to connect the power grid of the four countries to each other in the year signed in 2016.

Moreover, he considered the implementation of this memorandum to be effective in strengthening the security of the region and the convergence of more countries in the face of transregional interventions.
