Iran Press/ Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 4th Fajr Handicraft and Traditional Arts Festival in Iran's National Museum in Tehran Minister Ali Asghar Mounesan said: "Tourism is a revenue-generating part of the economy of countries."
"Developing countries see the industry as a shortcut to compensating for their economic backwardness, and this indicates that this industry with such a high capacity is able to generate more income with less investment," Mounesan added.
"Our country, of course, has many tourist attractions. There is also good security in the country. These are factors that we must use them to promote the tourism industry," the minister highlighted.
"According to the latest statistics from the World Tourism Organization, the tourism industry has about $ 11.7 billion shares directly in the country's GDP, and this has very good growth in tourism. So it has the capacity to support our non-oil economy.
Another advantage of the tourism sector is that the people have responsibility and management of the industry, and the government is just overseeing that means that we have set up a people-oriented economy.
Ali Asghar Mounesan on Sunday participated at the closing ceremony of the 40th Fajr Handicraft and Traditional Arts Festival in Iran's National Museum in Tehran.
