This year's Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be led by the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and will be held at 8:30 a.m. (either on Friday or Saturday morning).

According to an Iran Press report, the head of the headquarters of the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer, Seyyed Bagher Pishnamazi, confirmed on Tuesday that the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, will lead Eid-ul-Fitr prayer at Imam Khomeini's Mossalla in Tehran.

Pishnamazi, who was speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, emphasized that special and varied programs had been prepared to welcome and serve Eid-ul-Fitr worshipers. He added: "Special ceremonies will begin at 7 a.m. with recitation of various Ayahs from the Holy Quran,  and  the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer will begin at 8:30 a.m."

In Islam, the first day of the month of Shawwal, is the Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the blessed fasting month of Ramadhan.
