Gathering for a summit in Kazan, Russia, the BRICS member countries have expressed their concerns about the escalation of tensions in the West Asian region and condemned the actions of the Israeli regime.

Iran PressEurope: The BRICS member countries on Wednesday and in the final statement of the summit of this group in Kazan, Russia, expressed their deep concern about military conflicts and instability in the West Asian region.

BRICS leaders in the final statement adopted after the BRICS summit while condemning the Israeli regime's attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria, also condemned the explosion of communication devices in Lebanon.

The BRICS countries also condemned the attacks on the UN staff in Lebanon and the threats to their security and asked the Israeli regime to immediately stop such actions.

Supporting the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations

Based on the final statement of the 16th BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, the BRICS countries once again emphasized their support for granting full membership status to Palestine in the United Nations.

BRICS leaders called for the strengthening of the non-proliferation and disarmament regime to maintain global stability and security, as well as the rapid implementation of the resolutions "establishing a zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East".

Calling for more active participation of less developed countries, especially Africa, in global processes

We want to ensure greater and meaningful participation of less developed countries, especially in Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, in global decision-making processes and structures and align them with contemporary realities.
The need to adopt more fundamental measures in Afghanistan

BRICS leaders also want to adopt more fundamental measures in Afghanistan to prevent terrorists from using the country's territory.

We emphasize the need for a peaceful and immediate solution to the situation in Afghanistan to strengthen the security and stability of the region. We defend Afghanistan as an independent, united, and peaceful country free from terrorism, war, and drugs. We want more visible and verifiable actions in Afghanistan to ensure that Afghan soil is not used by terrorists.

Supporting the peace process in Yemen

The BRICS countries want to continue supporting the dialogue and peace process in Yemen under the supervision of the United Nations.

Review of international financial infrastructure

The BRICS countries called for a review of the international financial infrastructure to address the financial problems facing the world today.

We emphasize the need to reform the current international financial structure to face global financial challenges, including global economic governance, to make the international financial architecture more comprehensive and fair.

BRICS countries also support ensuring the long-term sustainability of space activities and preventing the deployment of weapons in space. We express our support for ensuring the long-term sustainability of outer space activities and preventing an arms race in outer space and its weaponization, including through negotiations to adopt a relevant multilateral instrument to ensure global security.

Preventing and dealing with terrorist threats

The BRICS leaders pledged to take decisive steps to curb the spread of terrorist ideology and radicalization and strengthen practical cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

We are committed to taking decisive measures to prevent and disrupt the spread of the ideology of terrorism and radicalization, the misuse of modern technologies for terrorist purposes, the cross-border movement of terrorists, the financing of terrorism, and other forms of support for terrorism. 

Attention to mediation proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

In this statement, attention to mediation proposals for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine through dialogue was emphasized, and they expressed concern about the escalation of violence and the escalation of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and called for a ceasefire.

We are concerned about the situation in southern Lebanon. We condemn the civilian casualties and massive damage to civilian infrastructure caused by Israel's attacks on residential areas in Lebanon and demand an immediate halt to military actions. We strongly condemn the attacks. As for UN personnel, we condemn the threats against their security and request Israel to immediately stop such activities.
