Tabriz(IP)- The 36th Iran-Azerbaijan international cycling tour with the participation of foreign and Iranian teams is being held in the northwest of Iran.

Iran PressIran news:  According to Iranpress correspondent in Tabriz, the Iran-Azerbaijan international cycling tour with the presence of 13 foreign teams and two Iranian teams and the participation of 82 cyclists will be held in East, West and Ardabil provinces of Azerbaijan.

Iran-Azerbaijan international cycling tour will be held in five stages; The first stage is from Tabriz to Urmia, the second stage is from Tabriz to Aras free zone, the third stage is from Aras free zone to Shabestar, the fourth stage is from Tabriz to Sareyn , and the fifth and final stage of the tour starts in front of Sareyn  Municipal Square and ends at Eynali Mount in Tabriz.

"Mehdi Sohrabi", the Iranian cyclist and champion of the Iran-Azerbaijan cycling tour, said in an interview with the Iranpress correspondent in Tabriz that this year there are very good and strong teams from Asia and Europe  which are competing.

This athlete added that the success of Iranian cyclists in the Iran-Azerbaijan tour is of great importance and everyone will try to win the golden jersey for Iranian cyclists.

Mehdi Ulamaei", the cyclist of the Iranian national team, told the Iranpress reporter in Tabriz that considering that he participated in the Iran-Azerbaijan international tour in the past years, this year the competition is very tough and the participating teams have a very high level.

The Dutch cyclists also said in an interview with the Iranpress correspondent in Tabriz that the teams have a very good level and we are experiencing good days in the Iran-Azerbaijan cycling tour.

These Dutch athletes stated that there are strong teams in the Iran-Azerbaijan tour, the competition is tough and we are happy to participate in this international tour hosted by Iran.

The 36th Iran-Azerbaijan international cycling tour will be held in five stages for six days from August 26 to 31, 2023, with a distance of 830 km.
