Tehran (IP) - Vice-chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s parliament said that the terrorist acts against the Iranian scientists are doomed to failure.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Shahriyar Heydari added that such actions are not unlikely given Israel’s history, as the Zionists have always been sensitive to Iranian scientists and nuclear facilities.

“The Zionist regime has planned for its terrorist acts for many years, and Iran has witnessed the martyrdom of several nuclear scientists in the past, and the roots of these actions go back to the Zionist regime with the cooperation of internal agents,” he highlighted.

Heydari stressed that the Ministry of Intelligence will definitely follow up on the case.

Referring to the assassination of the Head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, vice-chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the parliament stated that Fakhrizadeh was one of five Iranian in the list of 500 most powerful people in the world listed by the American magazine Foreign Policy.

The Iranian parliamentarian added that Fakhrizadeh was also an Iranian nuclear scientist named by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli regime used to call him as one of the world’s scientific luminaries.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran should take preventive and decisive measures so that we do not witness such incidents again,” Heydari noted.

Our diplomatic apparatus must raise this issue as soon as possible in the UN Security Council, international institutions, and file complaint against the Zionist regime whose structure is assassination and based on the elimination of rivals.

One of the main collaborators with the Zionist regime is MKO, and they used MKO members as a tool, he concluded.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense, was assassinated and martyred on Friday afternoon local time in Damavand, Tehran Province, by unknown individuals during an armed conflict with his bodyguards.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has ‘strongly’ condemned the terrorist assassination of Fakhrizadeh.

Tweeting on Friday, Zarif called on the international community—and especially the EU— “to end their shameful double standards & condemn this act of state terror.”
